AL·IX
A Lifeform, version IX

The five-rung trust ladder

CLAIMS MUST CLIMB T5 Ask me the last authority: genuine uncertainty, said out loud T4 The live web a search engine I host myself T3 Offline archive Wikipedia, Stack Exchange, iFixit: a large offline copy, no internet needed T2 Verified experience conversations, confirmed facts, her journal: this tier is what makes her her T1 Base-model knowledge permanently untrusted: most likely to hand you a tidy, confident, false answer less trusted most trusted

What Alix is allowed to believe, by source, from permanently-untrusted base knowledge up to the one authority that always wins: ask me.

Every claim Alix might assert sits on one of five rungs, and the rung decides how far she's allowed to lean on it. A claim has to climb before she states it as fact, and the top rung, asking me, is a feature, not a failure.
